When you coach a team, the days leading up to your first game of the season can seem never-ending. You just can’t wait to get on the field and get after it together! May is a fun month for our FCA staff as we wait in similar anticipation for what God is going to do at FCA Camps this summer with coaches and athletes.
In our region alone, we will be hosting 38 camps this year with the united theme of ‘Strong’ based on 2 Timothy 4:7. It is an inspiring experience to be part of an FCA Camp and to watch what God does in the hearts of coaches and athletes during their short time together. While I could try to explain all that I have seen in my past 26 years of attending and serving camps, I strongly advise you to visit an FCA Camp and see firsthand the great work that God is doing in the lives of others.
“And if you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of my followers, you will surely be rewarded.” – Mathew 10:42 (NLT)
Jesus makes it very clear how simple the act of serving can be. Whether you are a photographer, school volunteer, athletic trainer, coach, or just somebody who wants to provide a cup of cold water to an athlete, we would love for you to come and serve at an FCA Camp this year and experience our ministry. Even if you feel that you are not qualified or equipped enough to serve, we will help find a role for you to fill at an FCA Camp.
Please consider joining us on one of our upcoming Wednesday Prayer Calls where we will be praying for all of our FCA Camps and volunteers that will be serving this summer. Please also consider emailing me personally at email@example.com if you are interested in being part of an FCA Camp.
The very first FCA Camp took place in 1956 in Estes Park Colorado, and we look forward to another amazing summer of camps and watching the Holy Spirit work in the lives of thousands of coaches and athletes throughout the Northeast region. We hope to see you soon!
Since 1954, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has been challenging coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels to use the powerful medium of athletics to impact the world for Jesus Christ. FCA focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ – to see the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes.
