With an immense passion for student athletes, Torry Berntsen brings unshakable leadership experience to the Northeast FCA Board. He is the Vice Chairman of Virtu Management, LLC, which is a private holding company of the former Chairman of the New York Mercantile Exchange. He also holds the rank of Vice Chairman of Corporate Development for Independent Bank of Texas (IBTX). Prior to that, Torry served for 25 years with The Bank of New York Mellon. His senior management positions there included Senior Executive Vice President, Chief Client Management Officer, and President and CEO of BNY Capital Markets Inc.
Although he sits on boards for several of Virtu’s portfolio companies and the Norwegian Christian Home and Health Center, Torry is quick to let you in on his motivation for working with Fellowship of Christian Athletes. “I love sports and youth, and I want to see athletes reached for Christ,” he explains.
Torry received both his BS in Accounting and his MBA in Finance from New York University. He has also spent time on Wheaton College’s Board of Visitors.
