Area Director, Syracuse Metro
Amanda grew up in New Jersey where she started playing sports at a young age. She attended church with her parents and two younger siblings, but by middle school, she and her siblings were each playing three sports, and life became very hectic. Once in high school, Amanda became a standout varsity basketball player, and her identity and passion in basketball began to take over.
Through a series of difficult circumstances, Amanda began to seek out and see her need for more of God in her life. A teammate invited her to the FCA Huddle at her high school, which Amanda began attending every Wednesday morning before school her senior year — thanks to the faithful love and perseverance of the teachers and coaches at the school who sponsored the Huddle. Once she received and committed her life to following Jesus Christ during that time, God began transforming her heart and mind to endure difficulties, and He gave her a passion for sports ministry.
From 2006-2010, Amanda attended the University of Maine where she played on the women’s basketball team, and helped start and lead the FCA Huddle. She also served as a huddle leader at FCA camps for four summers during college. After graduating, Amanda joined FCA staff as Area Representative for Eastern Maine from 2010-13.
Since August 2013, Amanda has lived in Syracuse where she has been serving coaches and athletes at the middle school and high school levels as Area Representative, Syracuse East. Amanda is grateful for the opportunities God has given her to continue to build a team of people to bring the love and impact of Jesus Christ into the lives of the athletes and coaches in the Syracuse area.
