Administrative AssistantSupport Susan
Susan Gnade came to know Jesus as a young girl and is thankful she has stayed close to Him throughout her life: “It has been a process of coming to know Him better and better each day. When life throws stuff at you, you can choose to lean in and get to know and trust Him better, or you can pull away. I am thankful I have never pulled away.”
She is grateful that her parents came to know the Lord the year she was born, and for the impact their faith has had on her life. It was through her parents’ involvement with FCA that Gnade first became aware of FCA during weekly Monday night Bible studies that her mother still hosts in her home for Syracuse University’s female athletes. Additionally, her parents regularly attend the SU’s Wednesday night huddle time, and Gnade’s son joins them. “When my son was in eighth grade someone there gave him an FCA Bible with all of the devotionals in it, and — to this day — that is the Bible he reads,” Gnade said.
Gnade was drawn to the FCA ministry because of the excellence she saw practiced in the lives of the staff: “FCA practices what they preach. There is nothing like being involved with an organization that has integrity 100%. To be a Christian, and to be part of something like this, speaks volumes.”
In addition to her part time responsibilities with FCA, Gnade is a substitute teacher at her alma mater, Faith Heritage Christian School. She received her B.S. in Elementary Education from Gordon College, were she also met her husband, Jeremy. They reside in Jamesville, NY with their two teen-aged children, Peter and Julia. The family is part of a church plant through Northside Baptist Church, called Praxis, where they are active in small group ministry and their son leads worship. A “soccer and track mom” through and through, Gnade attends many soccer games and track meets. She also enjoys hiking the Adirondack Mountains near Big Moose Lake where her family enjoys spending their summers.
