MEGAN BAKER
Northeast Regional Board
Megan Baker grew up in a small town in south-central Iowa called Indianola, where she played volleyball and golf in highschool. Her father, Dave Turnball, has served as the State of Iowa FCA Director for 36 years. “My interest in FCA really began as a kid tagging-along with my dad to camps and events,” she says.
After her junior year at Wheaton College in Illinois, Baker spent the summer interning with the FCA golf ministry in Ponte Vedra, FL. During this time, she traveled to various golf camps across the country and served as a huddle leader. She played four years of golf for Wheaton and was named the team captain her senior year – graduating with a B.A. in Sociology.
In the Fall of 2009, Baker joined First Trust Advisors where she has played various roles. Currently, she works as a tax product manager for the company’s exchange-traded funds. Baker is excited to share her FCA ministry experience with people who enjoy the camaraderie that sports bring to life. She says, “Because I have participated in FCA over the course of nearly every stage of life, I know the impact that positive, Christ-centered role models can have on young people.” Baker wishes to open the doors for more student-athletes to experience opportunities to meet like-minded peers. “Those who choose to live out their faith and see sports as an avenue to do so,” she says.
Baker lives in Bow, NH. with her husband, Kyle and recently started attending CenterPoint Church. They enjoy golfing, traveling and spending time with friends.
